What you’ve stumbled across here are the works of Lauren DiCioccio. She’s from San Francisco (as I sigh in fondness of location). She’s got a knack for recreating everyday objects and various snippets of print using embroidery.

DiCioocio chooses everyday objects that serve as perfect examples of things at risk of extinction. Conveyed through the use colorful threads, her aim is to remind the viewer of the importance such simple objects hold.

DiCioccio sees her creations as “tedious handiwork…simple but intimate pieces of everyday life and to provoke a pang of nostalgia for the familiar physicality of these objects”.  Dig it.
